Description
We are actively recruiting for a Product Sales Advisor to join our clients successful business. This position is generally office based and includes but is not limited to the following tasks: you will be first response to telephone and email enquiries; you will receive and process orders from customers, both domestic and international including newly implemented export paperwork, alongside originating and following-up quotations. In addition, you will assist with marketing activities including social media posts, promotions, organising exhibitions, designing publications and digital mailshots and surveys.

The job is phone and computer based so you will be in the sales office for the majority of the day, although at times liaison with other departments, including the factory, will be required along with occasional off-site customer visits.

The position requires a commercial understanding of our customers and of the business along with a technical knowledge of our major product lines, for which training will be given but an flair for mechanical products is required.

The successful candidate will:
* be experienced in dealing with customers in a sales office environment
* be experienced in working with products rather than services or systems
* be able to learn the basic technical aspects of the product ranges
* have proven, excellent customer service skills
* be able and willing to adapt to changing sales and economic patterns
* have experience of MS Office software
* be able to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers
* be competent in all elements of the English language (speaking, understanding, reading and writing) to advanced level
Experience in Sage 200 and an interest in mechanical engineering are preferable but not essential.

Key tasks include but are not limited to:
* responding to incoming telephone calls and emails using product knowledge as well as our own and third-party
catalogues
* processing orders and enquiries using the Sage system
* preparing quotations using the internal quotation system and product knowledge
* following up quotations and leads from customers
* having a working knowledge of all administrative functions of the sales office to cover for absent colleagues as
and when required
* booking transport companies
* raising purchase orders on third party suppliers as required
* visiting customers and attending exhibitions and other events as required
* assisting with all levels of marketing activities
* any other reasonable tasks that may be requested
