Description
I am looking for a Workshop Mechanic to join a very reputable, specialist organisation within Bicester who have experienced very rapid growth in recent years.
The company are looking for an individual who has a background in mechanics/ mechanical assembly with experience in using hand tools. You will be required to work with engines of all types, following instructions which show you how to assemble/ modify products.

Responsibilities of the role
*Produce engines and or product as required following correct issue number or build standards and special instructions
*Test engines in test tanks on engine dynamometers where required
*Carry out inspection of Company products, raising necessary reports
*To look after all workshop tools and equipment
*Ensure latest technological systems are reviewed and introduced where necessary to improve profitability
*Work with the SPD team in carrying out engine dismantling and inspection duties
*To follow and comply with health and safety procedures on a daily basis
*To suggest improvements where necessary, to improve the quality/ safety of your working environment
*Undertake inductions and training courses when required
*Assist in fitting engines to Dynamometer test beds
*Test engines to agreed procedure
*Drive company vehicles to visit other company sites, suppliers, customers or maintenance garages.
*Remove existing paint/ coatings and prep for painting
*To ensure that any changes made to build standards, drawings, packing lists and special instructions are communicated to other members of staff
*Ensure all tools and equipment are stored correctly, calibrated and up to date
*Prepare and pack engines for despatch to customers, ensure they are correctly labelled in line with company procedures, ensuring the customer receives the correct product and that it arrives in good condition and undamaged

Ideal Experience (not essential)
*To have at least 5 years' experience in a busy workshop or production environment
*Any knowledge which revolves around petrol and/or diesel engines
*Machining and welding skills desirable
*IT skills using Microsoft Office
*Counter balanced forklift operators certificate desirable
*City and Guilds in Vehicle Mechanics or Engineering
*City and Guilds in fabrication and welding desirable
*NVQ Level 2 or similar qualification

Salary: £21,500 - £22,500 dependant on experience (plus O/T).

Working days and hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am-4:30pm and Fridays 7:30am-12pm
