- Innovative, market leader of advanced technology, based in Bicester seek to employ another permanent Coating Technician to work alongside the current small team of Production/ Processing Operatives. As a team, you will be responsible for prolonging the life span of critical parts that operate in extreme environments.
The coating process is carried out within a chemical coating plant, which operates under vacuum. It is up to the Coating Technicians to maintain, load and control reactors to produce parts reliably to specification.
Typical duties include.
*Operation of all coating production plant and equipment including maintenance.
*Load, run and validate coating cycles (parameters and controls) to specification and works instruction.
*Adhere to manufacturing processes and procedures.
*Recommend improvements in plant, equipment, and techniques to support the development of coatings processes.
*Reading diagrams
*Working with tight dimensional tolerances
*Encourage a continuous improvement philosophy throughout the coatings department.
*To be responsible and work in a safe manner.
*Support and work to 5s systems as applicable
*Carrying out maintenance on some manufacturing equipment
*Given the chemical nature of the process, the successful applicant would be expected to work with corrosive chemicals and need to wear the appropriate PPE (including full face gas masks).
Required skills and experience:
*The successful candidate will be technically minded and have a knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.
*Experience of vacuum systems is desirable, but not essential as this is a unique process and training would be supplied to any successful applicant.
*A demonstrable problem-solving capacity
*Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
*Understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices.
*Good team working and communication skills
Salary:
Up to £25.000 per annum, dependant on experience.
Working days/ hours: Monday to Friday 8:00- 16:30
