Transport Administrator
Working hours
8:45am- 17:00 Monday to Thursday and Fridays are 9:00- 16:00.

Overview
The Transport Administrator is mainly responsible for arranging, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of materials to sites up and down the UK, from Europe. Due to the nature of the business, you will also be working alongside the contracts department, overseeing the plant hire process.
The position is quite varied, you may be required to book overnight accommodation for the company's installer teams on occasion. A very small portion of the role will also include the need to monitor health and safety/ trade certification, to ensure compliance.
Responsibilities
- Working with the Contracts Team, overseeing and managing the efficient and timely transportation of construction materials to multiple sites nationwide.
- Talking to different transport companies, sourcing the most cost-effective options for the business
- Plan and coordinate the supply and movement of materials to sites with the Contracts Team.
- Liaising with suppliers and transport companies regarding the importation process.
- Regular discussions with the Project Director/Manager regarding any potential site issues.
- Monitor transport costs and delivery times.
- Update and report delivery and dispatch information.
- Ensure all information within the database is accurate and up to date.
- Track shipments/ deliveries.
- Resolve any issues regarding transportation and supplier collections
- Ensure carrier compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Liaising with plant hire companies in order to source the most cost-effective solutions.
- Arrange deliveries and collections of plant equipment, as instructed by the contracts team.
- Monitor "live hires" and report back to the contracts team weekly.
- Liaise with clients regarding delivery and collection of plant equipment.
- Booking health and safety renewal courses when required.
- Booking overnight accommodation for the installer team, ensuring that you compare prices and choose the most affordable option possible.
Essential criteria
- Previous experience working within transport/ logistics of some description
- Excellent administration skills
- Highly organized with good attention to detail
- A preventative and forward-thinking approach when planning ahead
- Excellent customer service skills
- The ability to work well when under pressure
- Self-motivated
- The ability to use your own initiative to solve problems and deliver solutions
