Structural Design Engineer

Graduates that have recently graduated in structural/ construction engineering will be considered

Salary: £30,000- £35,000 per annum

Location: Bicester, Oxfordshire

Working days: Monday to Friday

Core hours: 08:30- 17:00

Structural Design Technician required for an organisation based in Bicester.

Required experience:

  • Previous experience in a structural or construction engineering role
  • ONC / HNC level qualification
  • Ability to understand bills of quantities
  • Previous use and implementation of structural principles
  • The ability to Interpret clients' requirements and communicating them forward to other individuals/ departments
  • Experience using AutoCAD and REVIT
  • Familiarity with FEM modelling and other engineering software programmes
  • Familiarity with Thermal Modelling software (Desirable, not essential)
  • Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office, CAD, CRM)

Main responsibilities

  • Creating clear and accurate optimised construction designs for our consultants
  • Design and creation of site schedules and construction drawings to enable the customer to accurately locate and install our products
  • Answering technical questions and giving technical advice to clients during meetings and over the phone/ email
  • Working alongside the external sales team, offering guidance/ assistance when required
  • Offering constructive engineering solutions, based on the interpretation of construction drawings
  • To ensure that designs are compliant with Health & Safety regulations
  • Working alongside project teams regarding the development and optimisation of our products and how they are applied
  • Occasional site visits as and when required
  • The flexibility/ ability to potentially travel to the Head Office in Germany for training
