Workshop Supervisor – Engine Overhaul

£40k - £42k pa (with OT)

A leading engineering and manufacturing business is looking for a Workshop Supervisor – Inboard Engine Overhaul to take charge of a busy production workshop and lead a skilled team of mechanics and technicians.

This is a hands-on supervisory role for someone who knows engines inside out, enjoys leading from the front, and takes pride in delivering high-quality builds on time, every time.

 

What You’ll Be Doing as the Workshop Supervisor;

  • Lead and supervise a team of mechanics and apprentices
  • Drive day-to-day inboard engine overhaul operations
  • Provide technical support and problem-solving on the workshop floor
  • Ensure engines are rebuilt and serviced to required standards
  • Keep production moving to meet deadlines and business targets
  • Oversee inspections, packing, labelling and final presentation
  • Raise quotations for rebuilds and service work
  • Maintain accurate time capture, task allocation and workflow
  • Champion Health & Safety and safe working practices
  • Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are clean, organised and compliant
  • Support product testing, exhibitions and off-site activities when required

 

What We’re Looking for in the Workshop Supervisor;

  • 5+ years’ experience in a workshop or production environment
  • Strong engine rebuild or new build experience
  • Proven supervisory or team-lead experience
  • Solid knowledge of Health & Safety at Work legislation
  • Practical experience with 4-stroke petrol and diesel engines

Desirable:

  • Diesel inboard marine engine knowledge
  • City & Guilds in Engineering / Vehicle Mechanics
  • Fabrication & welding skills
  • Forklift licence
  • Basic IT skills
