- Description
- We have a new opportunity for a Head of Grounds Maintenance to lead our clients award winning Crematorium and Memorial park.
You will ensure the grounds of the Crematorium are maintained to a high standard and ensure consistent delivery of the highest level of service to clients. Main duties of the role will include:
*Undertaking various horticultural duties including rose bed maintenance, pruning, dead heading, edging
*Maintenance of shrubs, planting, pruning, grass seeding, grass cutting
*Site preparation, including laying turf and maintenance and creation of memorial areas
*General maintenance and cleaning of allocated machinery
*General cleaning and preparation of the service chapel, cloister, flower room and accommodation for services and public use
*Attend services, assist funeral directors, mourners, and members of the public
*Act as a pall bearer. Scatter and place cremated remains in the garden of remembrance
*Maintain floral displays in designated areas
*Process enquiries from the public and funeral directors
*Ensure collection, identification, storage, and final disposal of cremated remains is maintained correctly and document.
*Manage the car park during busy services
*Complete any other reasonable duties requested by your Manager such as Administration and use of the facility's IT systems
Person Specification:
*Experience in a similar ground's maintenance/horticulture role is essential
*Demonstrates an interest in grounds maintenance
*Client focused with good communication skills
*Sensitivity and a high degree of care and understanding
*Able to perform manual tasks and willing to work in all weather conditions
*Self-management
*Demonstrates reliability and commitment
Job Type: 40 hours a week, 9am-5pm Monday to Friday
