- Due to continuous growth, expansion and development within their company, my client is now seeking to recruit a Logistics Manager into their team. You will be joining a stable and expanding business that has continued to grow year on year since their inception and join a team of friendly and enthusiastic individuals.
Please note this role is based in Retford and also Bicester and time away from home spent at each site weekly.
As a Logistics Manager you will lead from the front by taking overall responsibility for the co-ordination of human inventory and line management of a network of operatives. You will make sure that all necessary resource is in the right place at the right time to enable a seamless service delivery to an exemplary standard. You will continually improve the operation as well as support the team with any hurdles they may face on a day-to-day basis.
You will also oversee quality control for the two facilities by following a strict procedure and reporting issues/concerns.
This role is working from both sites, one located in Bicester, Oxfordshire and one in Retford, Nottinghamshire. As such your time will be divided between the two sites on a weekly basis and time spent at each site. This means that overnight stays away from home will form part of your working week, however relevant expenses and accommodation is be paid.
Key Responsibilities
*Make sure everything and everyone is in the right place at the right time to deliver the company service including
*Map the optimum routes for collection and transfer
*Be based at both facilities (Bicester and Retford) for an equal amount of time during the week
*Engage all necessary employees effectively, making sure they are involved and empowered as well as acting as a point of escalation for any logistical problems at all times
*Continually review and improve the logistics operation across your area
*Direct and supervise service operatives.
*Be responsible for managing the maintenance and cleanliness of cold storage facilities
*Provide a daily report of service activity and facility management
*Service scheduling
*Monitor service operations to ensure that they comply with applicable policies, regulations, and laws.
*Direct and co-ordinate activities involved in the company administration in order to maximise profits and deliver operating standards in order to provide customer satisfaction
*Ensuring that paperwork is delivered within time limits to all concerned
*Act with due diligence when using assets, and to ensure that documents and important data are safe and secure.
*Support staff in the achievement of key performance targets
*Work with the team to ensure effective co-ordination of services
*Responsible for ensuring all complaints are dealt with appropriately
*Maintain high standard of housekeeping and report all defects/damage
This is a new role within the business and the key things sought are previous/current logistics experience, proven track record of effective and efficient route planning, be located near to one of the sites outlined and prepared/able to work away from home each week and demonstrate an excellent eye for detail.
