- Do you have a technical background and an understanding of the inner workings of Diesel engines?
I am recruiting for a local Technical Support Engineer, for an organisation based in the heart of Bicester.
Please note that this is an office based role, however, this does include regular site visits, for which a vehicle is provided. You must have experience working with engines and have an in-depth knowledge, to be able to give customers technical advice. Your client base would consist of the MOD and the fire service to name a few, and the engines in question are used to power water vessels/ boats. Any experience with boat engines/ within the marine industry would be very advantageous.
Specific product training will be given to ensure that you are able to offer the correct technical support. You will also be required to carry out fault finding and engine support and take part in boat demonstrations.
Skills and experience required:
*Using, operating and maintaining outboard motors, and preferably inflatable boats
*Technical knowledge and hands on experience with regards to engine builds
*At least 5 years practical experience in a busy workshop/production or marine engineering environment
*Computer Literate
*Working within an ISO 9001 framework (or an equivalent quality system)
*Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act
*Practical working knowledge of 2 and 4 stroke engines (petrol & diesel)
*Working knowledge of the marine industry both leisure, commercial & dealer
*Team working & communication skills
*Compile build standards and carry out design and installation projects in accordance with pre-determined customer led criteria (In house product-based training will be given
Salary- Up to £30,000 per annum (Dependant on experience)
Working hours- 08:45- 5pm Monday to Friday
