Senior Purchaser

Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum DOE
Contract: Permanent
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: Bicester Area

Are you an experienced Purchaser looking for the next step in your career? Equation Recruitment have the opportunity for you. We are currently looking for someone who can be the perfect asset in our client's brilliant and successful team. This is an opportunity you can't ignore!

Your main responsibilities:
*Responsible for sourcing and purchasing high value, complex electronic materials, and components in a cost-effective manner.
*Work with the Production and Commercial departments to understand the medium- and long-term requirements.
*Forecast upcoming requirements to ensure stock levels are at the correct level.
*Facilitate purchase orders in time for goods to be delivered in line with requirements.
*Work closely with Research and Development to determine and select resources that optimise performance.
*Identify opportunities to reduce costs.
*Create and maintain advantageous supplier relationships.
*Hold and review supplier meetings.
*Manage and agree terms with suppliers.
*Provide purchasing support across the business.
*Implement and review current cost reduction activities.

What you need:
*Proven experience with purchasing components and materials within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
*The ability to maintain successful working relationships that are advantageous to the organisation in terms of cost and performance.
*Negotiation skills.
*Understanding how bill of materials and subassemblies work.
*Experience using a CRM system.
*CIPS qualification would be desirable.
