An established and highly respected construction contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to join its Building division based at its Central London Head Office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Contracts Manager to take ownership of multiple projects across some of London’s most prestigious buildings, working with a collaborative and experienced team delivering high-quality refurbishment, restoration and construction works.

The successful Contracts Mananegr will play a key role in leading projects from planning through to completion, ensuring delivery to programme, quality standards and commercial targets.


The Role of the Contracts Manager

As Senior Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects efficiently and ensuring that works are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards. You will oversee project teams, coordinate resources, and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities of the Contracts Manager

  • Develop and manage project delivery plans in line with client requirements
  • Procure and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to meet programme needs
  • Oversee Health, Safety and Environmental plans in collaboration with the QHSE team
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality and performance
  • Work closely with project surveyors to ensure commercial targets and profitability are achieved
  • Attend and lead client progress meetings and stakeholder reviews
  • Ensure accurate contract administration and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage teams to deliver projects efficiently and to optimum performance levels
  • Support tender preparation and provide insights to the estimating team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to identify future opportunities
  • Ensure smooth project completion and handover documentation

About the Contracts Manager Opportunity

You will join a well-established contractor delivering projects ranging from minor works through to multi-million-pound construction and refurbishment schemes.

The organisation works across a diverse portfolio including heritage buildings, museums, galleries, universities and prestigious commercial properties, offering long-term project pipelines and strong career progression opportunities.


Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience managing construction contracts
  • Proven experience delivering building or refurbishment projects
  • Strong project management and commercial awareness
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Strong communication and client-facing abilities

Qualifications

  • HND / Level 4 in Building Studies or similar
  • Relevant construction management qualification

Desirable

  • BSc (Hons) in Building Studies or similar
  • Membership of CIOB
  • IOSH / Health & Safety training
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid qualification
