- I am looking for a Laboratory Assistant, preferably with a background in skincare/ cosmetics to join a company who are experts in the industry.
Over the years, the company have developed break-through products, winning various awards for revolutionising the industry with their organic, natural and free from animal testing formulas. This is an opportunity to be a part of a forward thinking, growing organisation and to assist in the development of their "world first" products.
To be considered for the role, you must hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry or in a related field and have at least 2-5 years' experience in product formulation. Working experience within a manufacturing environment will be an advantage and strong data management skills with experience in establishing Excel databases is also an ideal skill to possess.
Key responsibilities of the role
*To assist in the development process of new products
*Carry out compatibility and stability tests within the laboratory
*To be familiar with scale-up
*Reformulate and develop robust, quality formulas to meet marketing's expectations
*Review the chemical and physical properties of raw materials and finished goods
*To perform instrumental testing to evaluate product properties
*Create and review technical documentation to support developmental projects. This will include ingredient statements, cost formulas and manufacturing formula cards
*Develop specifications for new and reformulated products
*To create manufacturing processes for development projects
*Source and approve new and alternate raw materials
*To completely understand the development process from the original brief, formulation approvals and providing assistance in terms of new technology research and raw materials
The role offers 35 hours per week, 9am- 5:30pm Monday to Friday with 1 hour for lunch.
