- Due to expansion within their business our Poole based Manufacturing/Engineering client are now seeking to recruit a Setter Operator to join their team.
You will be responsible for efficiently and productively operating and setting all machinery, including any ancillary equipment.
The salary for this role is £26,700 (including shift allowances) and there is a production bonus that could increase your annual earnings up to £29,000. The working hours are: 6am-2pm Mon-Fri week 1 and 2pm-10pm Mon-Fri week 2.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
*Operating a machining cell or paint line, including any ancillary equipment.
*To check your own work using measuring equipment and, where relevant, recording the data.
*To change own inserts & tooling in machines.
*The setting of machines as required (including the paint line), including any ancillary equipment, such as the etch marker or dip tank.
*Ensure all finished parts are made ready for despatch to the customer in a timely manner.
*General housekeeping to ensure the machine shop, machines and ancillary equipment are clean and tidy.
*To liaise with the Setter Supervisor/Maintenance department, when required, to ensure timely reporting of breakdowns and potential failures in order to minimise downtime.
*Together with the quality department to be responsible for, at minimum achieving and striving to improve the quality standards required.
*To undertake any other duties as requested by the Setter Supervisor, Machine Shop Superintendent or Manager.
You will be ideal candidate if you are someone who has experience with setting and operating their own turning and/or milling machines in either Siemens or Fanuc. You must also have a positive attitude and ability to work as a team and independently.
