The successful applicant will oversee 16 members of the manufacturing team, who are responsible for the assembly of small- scale motorised, agricultural equipment. The manufacturing department consists of 3 sections, as different types of equipment are assembled in different areas.
The company have been established since the early 1900's and are looking for someone who is a "people person", with good organisation and problem-solving skills to join them on a permanent basis. Previous experience as a Team Leader/ Supervisor is essential. If you have experience using LEAN/ Kaizen principles, this would be advantageous. The role itself involves a mixture of hands on work as well as people management. It is important that you are happy to get stuck in, in terms of manual work.
Key responsibilities and requirements:
*To ensure that manufacturing levels are maintained effectively and to a high standard
*Daily management of 16 operatives, including absence, performance, appraisals and holiday
*Assign jobs to Operatives based on individual skill and experience
*Cover staff absences
*Provide training to Operatives
*Experience using basic hand tools (ideally, some experience in a production/ manufacturing environment)
*Computer literate
Working days and hours are Monday to Thursday, 7am- 4:30pm and Fridays, 7am- 11am. You will get 2x 15-minute paid breaks and a 30-minute lunch.
25 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays.
Salary is dependent on experience and calculated based on a 40 hour working week: £22,880- £27,040 per annum.
