- Due to continued expansion within their business, our engineering/manufacturing client based in Poole now seek to recruit a Machine Shop Setter Supervisor to work on the Night Shift.
It is essential that you have experience setting and operating turning/milling machines in either Siemens or Fanuc.
Working hours are 5 x 8hr nights (10pm-6am Sunday to Thursday)
The Setter Operator is responsible for efficiently and productively operating and setting all machinery, including any ancillary equipment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Operating a machining cell or paint line, including any ancillary equipment.
2.To check your own work using measuring equipment and, where relevant, recording the data.
3.To change own inserts & tooling in machines.
4.The setting of machines as required (including the paint line), including any ancillary equipment, such as the etch marker or dip tank.
5.Ensure all finished parts are made ready for despatch to the customer in a timely manner.
6.General housekeeping to ensure the machine shop, machines and ancillary equipment are clean and tidy.
7.To liaise with the Setter Supervisor/Maintenance department, when required, to ensure timely reporting of breakdowns and potential failures in order to minimise downtime.
8.Together with the quality department to be responsible for, at minimum achieving and striving to improve the quality standards required.
9.To undertake any other duties as requested by the Setter Supervisor, Machine Shop Superintendent or Manager.
The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience with setting and operating their own turning and/or milling machines in either Siemens or Fanuc. They must also have a positive attitude and ability to work as a team and independently.
