Equation Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of an employer for a full-time, permanent Customs Specialist position based in modern offices near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

What's on offer?

  • £30,000-£35,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Company performance bonus (after 1 year, subject to performance)
  • Cashback health plan for all employees
  • 20-25 days annual leave (increasing with service)
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday (09:00-17:00)
  • Occasional Sunday rota (11:00-16:00), paid at double time or time in lieu


The role:

As a Customs Specialist, you'll handle end-to-end customs clearance processes using ASM Sequoia and bespoke systems. You'll liaise with HMRC, airlines, freight agents and customers to ensure shipments are accurately documented, tracked and compliant with all regulations.



Your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing import/export entries using Sequoia or similar systems
  • Liaising with HMRC, Border Force and third parties to resolve customs queries
  • Monitoring shipment progress and coordinating clearances and collections
  • Maintaining compliance with ETSF, CFSP, and AEO procedures
  • Preparing accurate documentation and supporting internal audits


What we're looking for:

  • Experience using Sequoia or a similar customs clearance system
  • Knowledge of UK customs procedures, including CFSP and ETSF
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deliver excellent service in a deadline-driven environment
