Maintenance Manager / Service Manager

£50,000 - £55,000 per annum | Office-based (Hybrid after probation)

 The Role

As the Maintenance / Service Manager, you’ll lead a skilled team of:

  • 10 x Engineers
  • 3 x Maintenance Coordinators
  • 1 x Key Account Manager

You’ll oversee maintenance operations, drive compliance and efficiency, and ensure that every service visit enhances customer satisfaction. You’ll also be a key contributor to revenue growth through smart leadership, process improvement, and team development.

 

What You’ll Be Doing as the Maintenance Manager / Service Manager

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Admin, Engineering, and Key Account teams.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support professional growth.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and team performance.

Operational Excellence

  • Manage and schedule all maintenance activities efficiently.
  • Ensure KPI compliance and timely service delivery.
  • Oversee internal reporting, invoicing, and service documentation.
  • Drive improvements in process, productivity, and communication.

Customer & Contract Management

  • Be the main point of contact for maintenance clients.
  • Manage SLAs, resolve issues, and oversee contract renewals.
  • Approve quotations and ensure accurate costing for all works.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure operations align with all HSE and company safety standards.
  • Lead investigations and implement corrective actions when necessary.

 

 

About You

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have experience in Fire Suppression, Building Services, or M&E Maintenance
  • Bring proven leadership and operational management skills
  • Are commercially aware with a strong customer-first mindset
  • Excel at coaching, motivating, and developing high-performing teams
